We are looking forward to the UNI Tour 2018! Explore. Experience. East of Troost.
UNI is gearing up to host its second-annual Explore. Experience. East of Troost Tour on Saturday, April 28. The guided bus tour will provide an excellent first-hand look at each of the 10 neighborhoods that UNI serves, highlighting what each has to offer and providing an opportunity to connect with some of the residents.
New this year, tour participants have the option to choose between two routes based on their personal interests. One bus route will highlight commercial real estate areas and investment opportunities, while the other route will focus primarily on residential areas and home properties within each of the UNI neighborhoods. However, some features and sites will overlap between both tour routes.
This year’s tour will take place throughout the afternoon, with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Kansas City Neighborhood Academy in the Wendell Phillips neighborhood. Buses will leave KCNA at 1:30 p.m. and travel throughout the UNI neighborhoods before ending approximately two hours later in the 18th & Vine jazz district.
UNI and its sponsors are hosting a reception after the tour at the Blue Room Jazz Club at the American Jazz Museum, featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres catered by Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen. Shuttles from the Blue Room back to KCNA will be available until 5:30 p.m. that evening.
Tickets are available for $15 each and may be purchased online via the following link to the tour’s Eventbrite.com page. Last year’s inaugural tour was a huge success, with more than 160 attendees filling five buses provided by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA).
