Ruby Jean’s was created with a passion for health and longevity of life in mind. Ruby Jean was a lady who connected her family and community members with a great sense of love and genuineness. Her legacy lives through providing that same level of care to the wide array of healthy options Ruby Jean’s Juicery offers. Ruby Jean’s is a place meant for relaxation in a fresh, hip, one of a kind environment. There is life in fruits and vegetables and that same life and passion are cornerstones of the Ruby Jean’s brand.
How did you get started in this business?
My late grandmother, Ruby Jean, suffered a very untimely death at the age of 61 after a battle with kidney disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Her death was largely attributed to the foods she ate on a daily basis. This loss has been the catalyst by which Ruby Jean’s Juicery was created and is spreading to a large audience.
What made you choose this neighborhood for your business?
I chose the new location because it is a great opportunity to be apart of the robust growth in downtown KC and to be near our brand partners One Life Fitness and One and Two Light Luxury Condos.
If you have one piece of advice for an entrepreneur just starting out, what would it be?
Focus on the details, lead with passion, and remember you are human.
What inspires you most?
What inspires me most is the desire to create freedom for my family and myself.
Where do you hope to be (business wise) in 4 years?
In 4 years I hope to have at least 25 store fronts in place and be successfully scaling into wholesale distribution of cold press bottles, healthy snacks, grab-n-go food items, and nationwide cleanse shipment all while increasing top-line and bottom-line growth.
What is the biggest obstacle/problem in reaching your goals?
The biggest obstacle in reaching my goals has been being able to create a team that shares the same values and work ethic as I do.
